A "thicker bracket" classic CT armless pole energized at 13.8kV located on E Hayestown Rd in Danbury.
I noticed there are two variations generally used with these classic "chicken-wing" brackets, there's the more common one that is thinner and the one here that is a bit thicker than the others, used much on the line nearby. There's probably more "subtle" variations, but these two types come to mind the most. hillhaveeyes5000 on Flickr: Posted a Photo
I had to re-glance at this a few times and indeed this seems to be a new (or at most 17 years old) armless pole. Which is weird since CL&P had been replacing armless construction (not so much the vertical assembly I think) for a while. This pole is located on the northern stretch of Hayestown Rd in Danbury, which is still full of armless construction. It's cool to imagine the possibility of this being put up within the past 10 years. bdunkle on Flickr: Posted a Photo

This is a rather old riser pole. It's a 13.8 kV (looks like it was once maybe 4 kV) pole. This is part of the line that trots along Clapboard Ridge Rd (or Rt 39) and this section has several old poles untouched (thankful I am). Judging by the crossarm brace and insulators themselves, I imagine this must be from 60's era. There were even several poles on this line still with old brown insulators still mounted. I really get a vision of what most of the lines resembled throughout the area during the 1960's or even earlier.
And my apologies for these bad shots as unfortunately these were the best I could find of this pole. ALAN BARRY on Flickr: Posted a Photo
Cameron, 22, is my younger son and youngest of my three children. While he is the baby, he is wise beyond his years, accomplished at his craft, a voracious student of life, and a truly good person. I am blessed. He hates having his picture taken, and especially by me(who could blame him for that last part). I'm glad he stood still for just a moment. bdunkle on Flickr: Posted a Photo

My first photo for Project 365!
I pass this stop sign all the time on my way from Danbury to Bethel. I've been meaning to hop out of the car and snap a photo for a long time... thought I'd kick start this year by doing something I've been putting off. Here's hoping there will be a lot more of that. :-) kathleeeeeen on Flickr: Posted a Photo

This is an old double-circuit line along Wooster Heights in Danbury. The top circuit is a spacer cable line, presumably 13.8kV. This "hook" bracket holding the spacer cable seems to be of an older model since it seems many replacements with circuits like these have the tangent brackets. The bottom circuit is an old classic three-phase line (at least 40 years old), it looks to be either 4kV or 13.8 kV. This whole pole must have been put up in the late 50's or during the 60's. And my estimation is that this spacer bracket is among the very first in the spacer cable series. tim nosenzo on Flickr: Posted a Photo

We came upon this skinny tree being devoured by this long, fat vine! Survival of the fittest, I suppose...
